My name is Denise.
With a Master degree in Philosophy (at the University of Venice – Ca’ Foscari), I have been teaching in Humanities (Philosophy, Italian, History, Geography) for more than twenty years as permanent staff of the Ministry of Education and Research.
Currently I teach in a Venetian school.
I hold a diploma as “Trainer of educators” after attending a two-year course at the University.
I did cooperate on various projects organized by the University of Venice and IRRSAE Veneto (regional school office).
Over the years I did attend many courses in many different subjects to keep up to date and I did participate in national and European conferences and congresses.
In 1989 I was asked to found and coordinate classes for learning and permanent education for adult students (from 16 to 75 and over).
In 1992 within the same project, I did also organize and activate the very first classes of Italian for migrants and foreigners in Venice.
Assigned by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I did teach Italian language and culture in a University in Melbourne (Australia) from February 1999 until September 2004 and there I did cooperate with the local Italian Institute of culture and the Italian General Consulate in organizing and diffusing Italian cultural events.
While in Melbourne, I did continue my studies in Linguistics and Philosophy of Language and I did enrol in a Doctorate of Philosophy.
I did take part in many international conferences (Adelaide, Kuala Lumpur, Sydney, Wellington, etc) presenting my research and representing the Department of Italian of the University.
I have a good knowledge of English, both written and spoken.
So, welcome to Venice, city of art, beauty, history but mainly of ancient merchants from many countries and different cultures, place of rich exchanges not only of goods, but also of ideas, knowledge, religions, customs, traditions.
In this spirit I hope to meet you. See you soon!
